| The Sullman-Luxatome ® A Fresh New Approach to the science of luxating teeth.  Sullman Surgical Ltd is pleased to introduce a patented new style of luxating instrument, the Sullman Luxatome ®. The Sullman Luxatome ® features an innovative new design that allows clinicians to direct gentle luxating forces in an apical direction along the root surface of the fractured or carious tooth or root to be extracted. The design allows the clinician to exert luxating forces buccally, lingually and even palatally on roots, which is particularly useful when a tooth for extraction is coronally compromised, leaving behind little or no tissue above the gum. Use of the instrument helps minimise tissue damage, bleeding, and complications post operatively. Use of the Luxatome ® minimises or eliminates altogether the need for bone removal during extraction procedures. This patented design allows access in many cases where the root to be extracted is tilted, rotated, crowded or impacted. The instrument is designed to cut the periodontal ligament and gently expand the socket to assist in the root extraction. The Luxatome ®, originally designed for loosening/displacing mandibular roots , is ideal for assisting in the removal of deciduous roots and can be described to children as a 'wiggling' or 'wobbling' tool.
